About National Struggle Museum

National Struggle Museum, Derece–yî Ûlâ Mekteb–i Mülkiye İdadi It is considered to have been built in 1904, during the time of Abdulhamid II. On the whole of the work, properly cut stone is used. Brown stone is preferred on the porch arches.

Education first started at Seyfullah Effendi house in the vicinity of Kapan. The first part of the high school was a secondary school (Rüştiye) was built in 1870 by Ahmed Pasha, the Commander of the Seas.

Today's Kayseri High School 1st floor was built in the neighborhood of Kiçikapi in H.1322 / M.1904. The second floor of the building was completed in 1915–1916 and the name became “Sultani”. In 1927, it was named “Kayseri High School” and began the activity. When the two–storey building was not seen as enough, the additional building was built in 1927. In the same year, the conference hall, dining hall and library were added to the 20 m south east of the library.

Since its foundation, Kayseri High School has also served as a museum for the collection of historical artifacts in the region, forming the foundation of the Kayseri museum. A protocol was signed between provincial directorate for national education and Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and with this protocol it was assigned to Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality for 50 year. Now, it came into service by name of the National Struggle Museum. Until 2016 September; in four months, it had 30,000 visitors.
