Özvatan

It is known that the oldest settlements in the district are Harsa and Armor Castles on the edge of Kızılırmak and belong to Eti (Hittite) s. It was learned that the public was engaged in mining and trade in this region at that time. B.C. Traces of Roman civilization can be seen in the region where the Armor Castle joined the Roman lands in 430 years.

Özvatan, whose previous name was ÇUKUR, became a district in 1990.
