About Bunyan Great Mosque
Due to the fractures in the inscription of the building belonging to the Anatolian Seljuk period in Bünyan district of Kayseri, exact information about the date of construction and the basin could not be reached. From its readable parts, it is understood that the building was built by architect Kālûyân by an emîr-ümerâ, and it is dated to 654 (1256).
Some researchers, on the other hand, took the building in 734 (1333) Zahîrüddin Mahmûd b. He claims that Tâc-ı Kızıl had it built by Kālûyân, the son of architect Karabuli. The mosque, which has survived to the present day, has undergone some repairs over time. It is also known as the Sâlih Bey Mosque, which is dedicated to Sâlih Bey who performed one of these repairs. The minaret of the building was repaired in 1906 and 1956, the top cover with earthen roof was covered with zinc during the repairs in 1964-1967. The ornaments of the crown gate are important in terms of art value.
