About Hunat Hatun Complex
Wife of I. Alâeddin Keykubad and the mother of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II, it was built by Mahperi Huand (Hunad, Hunat, Hunt, Handi, Honat) *to the city center. The Hunad complex, one of the most important of the complexes left from the Seljuks, is located outside the village and east of İç Kale. This complex** includes a double mosque built in the direction for the long axis of Qibla and in front of the western front of the mosque facing the waterfall, a madrasah and door located on the north–western part of the mosque, partly in the vicinity of the mosque and extending in the east–west direction, placed inside the northwest corner of the mosque and a tomb. The most detailed and meticulous work on the building community belongs to Haluk Karamağaralı. The researcher defines the Hunat Complex as vernacular and says that the buildings are not organized to form a whole at the beginning but that they are formed at the different times and joined together with each other, that is to say, that every new element is planned according to the existing structure.
