About Akkışla
Local people came as nomads from Central Asia and settled within the boundaries of today's District. Although the date of establishment is not certain, according to the documents at hand, Akkışla, founded in 1804 by the Kuz Güdenli tribe of the Oguz people living in the nomadic state, is a district with 14 neighborhoods today.
The name of the district, which was changed from “Conalı” to “Lamb Guinea”, was named after Akkışla with the combination of the word “Ak” from the whiteness of the rocks in the north and the word “Barracks” due to the fact that the animals can winter in the winter months. It is understood from the ruins in Kululu Town, which is a part of our district. In Hellenistic and Roman times, Kululu fortress was used for defense purposes for a long time. Yogurt festival is held in the highlands every year in Gömürgen Village.
