Talas, with its archaeological and historical urban values, is an old settlement and an important historical city where life continues in its campus. The settlement was established and developed on the arc surrounding the mountain starting from the southeast of Ali Mountain towards the east and north skirts. The first settlement activities in the establishment process of the city coincide with the first years of the Gregorian period. Due to the growth of the settlement in time, the physical borders of our district and the historical neighborhoods that constitute our district have changed. Today, Talas; It has an area of ​​450 km2 with its 1100 m altitude and 33 neighborhoods. Talasda, which lies on the skirts of Mount Ali, which appeals to paragliding enthusiasts, is very close to Kayseri city center, American College building (1826), Talas Han mosque (1898), Esma Hatun Tomb (1890), Talas Dry Bridge, Christian churches, monasteries and Dereveng Valley, approximately 1700 years old underground city belonging to the Byzantine period, Okutan Mansion in Harman District, Yahyabey Mansion, Yaman Dede Mansion, Cemilbaba House and bay windows in Tablakaya neighborhood are other elements that make up the historical texture in Talas District.
