Rambling horses , which nest in the vast plains and undulating piedmont reaching the top of Erciyes , consist of horses which were retired by their owners, whom they served for many years. They struggled to hold on to life and also found each other and has increased population again… They have become a legend that is often told in the city… The legend of rambling horses (Yılkı atları)

'Yılkı Horses', which are known as wild horses in Anatolia and generally lead a wild life in high altitudes away from people, struggle for life on Mount Erciyes.

It is noteworthy that Yılkı Horses, which are constantly in question, are living in the upper parts of Hacilar Water Reservoir and Sarigol regions of Erciyes Mountain during the summer months. Yılkı Horses, which have become a symbol of natural life, try to stay away from people as much as possible and continue their lives with the food they find from nature. Yılkı Horses, who usually travel in nature in groups, try to meet their water needs from the snow water melting from the stream beds or from the water bed of Sarıgöl. It is another matter of curiosity how Yılkı Horses, who struggled to survive in Erciyes throughout the summer, survived their lives during the winter. The members of the Erciyes Snowdrop Team, who are the regulars of Mount Erciyes, agree on the view that the generations of these wild horses, which have very beautiful appearances for Yılkı Horses, which they saw coincidentally, on their marches to Erciyes Mountain.
