- Ankara to Kayseri currently takes about 7 hours on the existing line (TRT Haber, August 2026).
- The Ankara–Yerköy–Kayseri high-speed line is under construction and is expected to cut the trip to 1 hour 45 minutes.
By car
- Kayseri sits at a crossroads of Central Anatolia, reachable from Ankara, Nevşehir, Sivas and Adana.
- Cappadocia (Ürgüp, Göreme) is the nearest major tourist area and an easy day trip.
- Erciyes Ski Resort is about 25–30 km from the city centre.
